Importance Of Flossing

When to floss before or after brushing ?

One of the easiest things to improve our oral health, and the most common one which we neglect the most- FLOSSING.

While we should floss on a daily basis, it’s quite easily overlooked and put off as we all are time-poor.

Flossing is a very critical part of your oral health care routine as it helps remove dental plaque (Bacteria) that can lead to the formation of cavities in between teeth as well as avoids gum inflammation-causing swollen and bleeding gums associated with bad-breath at times.

When Should You Floss? – Best if flossed before brushing, as the displaced and loosened plaque is then thoroughly removed by brushing your teeth.

Best Way of Flossing:

  1. Start with a piece of floss that is at least as long as your arm.
  2. Wrap the two ends of the floss around your index and middle fingers, leaving a few inches in between your hands to floss.
  3. Starting at the back of your mouth, floss between every tooth, getting down into the gums two to three times for each tooth. Be sure to also floss at the back of your last molars because it’s an easy spot to forget.
